What's cooking?
« on: July 14, 2014, 10:53:39 AM »
Yes, another RD clone thread.  :)

I think it was the nice evil kitty who started it on RD, so that's kind of in his honor. I hope he and his girl find their way to this board.

So this is about cooking, about dishes, recipes and everything else related to the subject.

Cooking Pasta and Bolognese sauce from scratch.

After I finished the sauce and I decided to let it simmer for a while, I went to do other things and the liquid evaporated and the bottom part got burned :( rest still tastes fantastic though! :D
I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it.

Jacob's ladder on the smoker (beef short ribs), soon, chicken, corn, other such goodies.  A number of racers will be over here, so you wanton, horny sluts that like some buns of steel, come on over.  We'll take real good care of you, I promise
Everywhere I look you're all I see.
Just a fading fucking reminder of who I used to be.

I melted a stick of butter in my stock pot. Added 1 large packet of mock crab plus a tbsp. minced garlic and cooked over medium heat stirring and breaking apart the mock crab. Then 6 trimmed stalks of celery sliced thin, 6 oz of cherry tomatoes quartered (we have a sweet yellow variety here that I used), pink Himalayan sea salt, sweet paprika, mustard powder onion powder and lemon juice. Stir occasionally until the celery just starts to soften.

Add I large can of condensed tomato soup and 1 can of 2% milk. Also a generous amount of grated parmesan cheese. Mix well.

Reduce heat to medium low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally. I'm waiting for the aroma to tell me it is time to eat.

P.S.: This is a spur of the moment mish-mosh with no guarantees.

This is what I made tonight! Chicken Parmesan casserole, but instead of leaving full chicken breasts, I cut them into pieces... Easier for serving and eating. :) I also didn't add the red pepper flakes to the bottom.

Last thing I had was a homemade quarter pound double cheeseburger, with melted smoked cheddar, and crinkle fries.

*sigh* I wish I could use chili peppers more. Someone has a delicate mouth.

I made an unbreaded chicken (just pure white meat chunks stir fried in sesame oil) and mixed veg sweet and sour stir fry with brown rice for a bed. Not a bad cobble.

All kinds of spices (chili powder, cumin, celery salt, etc.)

Took the left over flour tortilla and put it on the warm griddle. Flipped it a couple times in a minute.

Put a generous amount of the left over pineapple-mango salsa in there. A couple splashes of chipotle hot sauce. Fold in half... Wait and flip... Kiss that other side with the heat...

Pineapple-Mango quesadilla.
