Carrie, the remake. Not really a remake type of gal, but when the revenge stuff comes around it's still gloriously satisfying. I mean face in windshield. That was lovely.

I can't recall which one I wached last of the two, and both are worth mentioning:

MIDSOMMAR. By the chap who brought us HEREDITARY.

and

NIGHTINGALE. Aussie revenge flick set in colonial times. The realistic rape and gang rape scenes will get you fucking tossers off for sure  :smh:

Bad Boys For Life. I wasn't looking for a masterpiece; I just needed cheering up.

And you know, sometimes there's something to be said for a competently made movie that doesn't screw anything up, and I think BBFL pretty much fit the bill. Good chemistry between the leads, decent performances, well-framed and executed action sequences, and not a ton of shaky cam or chop-chop-chop editing.

Yesterday Fifty Shades 3 was on the telly. Landed right in the middle of it and not even 10 minutes had passed and I already rolled my eyes about 5 times. You can tell it used to be fanfiction.

Joker.

When I'm feeling depressed, it's going to be my go-to comedy. Why would I find it funny, especially when I'm at my lowest points? If you're not depressed...you wouldn't get it.
One winter a Farmer found a Viper frozen and numb with cold, and out of pity picked it up and placed it in his bosom. The Viper was no sooner revived by the warmth than it turned upon its benefactor and inflicted a fatal bite upon him; and as the poor man lay dying, he cried, "I have only got what I deserved, for taking compassion on so villainous a creature."

'Trolls: World Tour'. I loved the first one. Fam a bit on the fence about this one.

The Invitation.

Slow burn. Quite atmospheric. Death cult. Violence. A beautiful white dress I must source for myself. Obvious plot, predictable twist (I enjoy being right about these things). What's not to love?

I've been on a Western kick lately so watched Unforgiven and The Quick and The Dead last week. Unforgiven is of course a master piece but TQATD is underrated. It's not great by any stretch but it's a hell of a fun movie with a pretty fantastic cast. You got Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, Sharon Stone and a very young Leo DiCaprio. Lots of great character actors like Keith David, Tobin Bell, Mark Boone Junior, Lance Henriksen, etc.

Romeo + Juliet.

My heart fluttered and broke multiple times throughout. I wept like a lost little girl at the end despite it being the umpteenth time I've watched it

It's beautiful, passionate, sweet, and brings back some wonderful recent memories so this is my favourite scene this time round
