How cruel is the gentler sex?

I have a question, to satisfy my curiosity. I’m writing a story in which a woman has turned the tables on her assaulters, one of them another woman. How cruel would think a revenge could be before becoming unbelievable. The outcome of this discussion is not going to affect my story, but I would like to understand how other reader and authors would see and Handeltreibenden situation.
If I try to reach only the male audience here, I can rely on my own hindbrain. But I Labour under chauvinistic assumption, that the ladies here look for something more refined. It would be great to get some feedback from the collective talent here.

Probably as many answers as their are women-each of us has our own limits and traits.


My vengeful thoughts are more cold-blooded than you might expect. Guys tend to (in my experience) express their vengeance in hot blooded immediate ways; going round and kicking in someone’s door for example. I can’t do that, so my revenge has to be well thought-out, planned in detail. And all the more cruel for that.


Do you know how to keep someone alive, long past the time their body should have expired-and certainly long after the time they wish for that blessed release? I do.


I won’t go into details of the cruel vengeful thoughts I’ve had, and I don’t know in reality if I could ever put them into action. But “don’t know if I could” isn’t the same as “wouldn’t”...is it...?


How cruel might a woman’s revenge be? Utterly...

In my stories I enjoy the defeat, not the comeback. A cruel revenge is a different sort of kink. I’d enjoy hearing the victim thinking of her revenge, but I’d prefer her to be captured again rather than getting to put it into action!

I've read a lot of true crime stuff - women can be just as sadistic as men!

Vicious and nasty punishment/vengeance is entirely believable from all genders.

I imagine that I would be similar to this if any man could possibly think he could hit me out of anger and then be brave enough to lay down and go to sleep next to me ever again

Cruelty? Consider this. A certain Nazi female concentration camp guard at the Buchenwald concentration camp during WW II had the nasty habit of having her victims skinned alive simply because she fancied some tattoo on their body. The flayed skin was then used to make book covers, lamp shades, gloves, and the like.

Because of course, she could. This of course doesn't even begin cover all of her perversities.

She was later sentenced to life in prison for her crimes.

The gentler sex need not lack in cruelty.
