2. Myths and Legends
As Worlds are created and born new myths and legends are written for those worlds. While I borrow from the well of common ideas, I do strive to make them unique and my own. Sure many worlds have their own Dragons, Werewolves, or Fae. And while there might be common or shared traits between them, within my worlds I have added my own unique take on each, making these stories, these worlds my own. The more creatures I use, the more that gets added to my ever growing list of what populates my worlds.
Dragons My Dragons are mine, they belong to here. Some of my favourite creations have their own unique story that shows how my worlds fit together, their motivations, their characteristics. Their strengths and limitations are in the tales I have told about them, as I continue to grow and expand them as they take their rightful place. Much more will be said about these
Werewolves While common creatures among many worlds, I still try to make them unique. Man shifting to a beast and then back again. No longer a singular night of chaos but a curse that shifts them slowly from man to beast to wolf over the course of a lunar cycle. Losing their minds, as they join and hunt with the other wolves in the forests. Such men become outcasts, living alone, not being trusted, as their minds regularly regress to the mind of an animal. Yet, if those that care for them remain in contact, they may retain their intelligence and connections between forms.
Vampires What is known as Vampirism is simply one source of magic out of many. These are the few who wield magic that can draw their power from blood. Yet while most Magus must rely on the ever shifting winds of nature, the unstable elements, or pacts with creatures outside of this world, their limits to power is just how much they are willing to take and any restrain they might have. From a single Magus that draws power from cutting himself, to a cult of blood worshiping Magus who bathes in it. Of course the potential for addiction is there.
The FaeHumans are curious creatures, so solid and temporal. So rigid, they do not flow like the weaves of magic. Yet many are the creatures of magic that find them fascinating, their passions between one another intriguing. Many creatures of magic pass through our world, some take form, entertaining themselves with mimicking the creatures they have watched with fascination. Sometimes with playful innocence, as they take beautiful forms, or copy one of the forms of lovers they had watched with curiosity. Leaving a gift of magic to a maiden, or themselves getting bound to this world temporarily, temporarily as their fleeting nature gets mixed, with the more permanent nature of our worlds. Some relish this, enjoying the experiences, not wanting to be part of this world, as they hold and care for a new life that came through them. Wanting to return whenever they can.
Yet others learn to be far more malicious, tempting and luring many to their deaths, as they feed off the magicks buried inside those they prey upon, only to fade away in the morning mists, to return and prey upon others as they are blown on the winds of magic into our world again and again.
Yet both can be bound by iron, grounded and powerless to flee. At the mercy of their captors, for whatever uses or purposes they have demised.
Throughout history, a few have come into our world, and bonded willingly with something in it. Those now known as the Elves, bounded with nature, trees and plants, animals and the forests. How many years later, they are beyond mimicry, and have their own societies, their natures still bound to the magical energies.
Or the Dwarves, peoples originating from stone and fire. Peoples that almost now relish in their permanence, stubbornness, enduring as stone and passionate as fire.
Beyond these few exceptions, others have chosen to remain in various forms and lurk the dark corners of our world and some have passed on to other worlds, similar to our own.
